Remember: This discussion question is worth a possible 20 points. Late answers will receive 0 points. Points will be assigned according to the thoughtfulness of your answer, not by whether it is "right" or not, since sometimes there is no "right" answer. Just be sure your ideas are supported by the material in the novel.

Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby OR Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises Link

1. How would you say the novel you read for this week (either The Great Gatsby or The Sun Also Rises) differs in style from Huck Finn? (This is a huge topic, and you only need to write a couple of paragraphs, so just narrow this down to one or two differences.)

2. What elements of Modernism do you find in the novel you read for this week (either The Great Gatsby or The Sun Also Rises)? (This is a huge topic, and you only need to write a couple of paragraphs, so just narrow this down to one or two elements.)

This class is taught through Los Angeles Harbor College.
